JAKARTA, iNews.id- Red Splash experienced a decline in ranking in the 2024 Korean Women's Volleyball League standings after IBK Altos won today, Saturday (9/11/2024). Red Sparks out of playoff zone.

Red Sparks lost in the fifth match of the first round of the 2024/2025 South Korean Volleyball League. They fell at home to Hillstate with a score of 1-3 (12-25, 29-27, 22-25, 37-39).

In fact, Megawati Hangestri performed brilliantly in the match which was held on Friday, November 8 2024. The star of the Indonesian Women's National Volleyball Team scored 34 points for the Red Sparks and was the top scorer along with the opposing player, Laetitia Moma Bassoko.

This is the second defeat suffered by the Red Sparks this season. Previously, they suffered their first defeat against IBK Altos with a score of 2-3 (13-25, 25-23, 25-18, 22-25 and 10-15) on 30 October.

Despite losing, the team coached by Ko Hee-jin still managed to sit in third place in the standings, aka the boundary of the playoff zone. However, their position changed after IBK Altos played today.

IBK Altos managed to win at home to AI Pepper Savings Bank. Arah Kim Ho-chul's team won by a landslide with a score of 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-15) thus successfully pocketing three additional points.

With these results, IBK Altos displaced Red Sparks. They rose to third place in the 2024/2025 Korean Women's Volleyball League standings with a score of 10 points.
