Marketing Director PDSPKP Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (CTF) Erwin Dwiyana said that Japan could become a new export market for frozen and processed products.

Erwin said, apart from that, there are other countries that also have great opportunities, including Australia and South Korea.

“In the US market itself there are still opportunities for shrimp commodities other than frozen shrimp. Then there are other markets such as Japan which have great potential for frozen and processed products. “Then there are Australia and South Korea,” said Erwin in his statement quoted on Tuesday (29/10/2024).

Erwin added, regarding the continuation of antidumping, the handling carried out by the KKP together with other authorities showed positive results.

Based on the final decision of the USDOC investigation, it was not found that there were any countervailable subsidies or subsidies provided to fish farmers and exporters under the Indonesian frozen law.

Meanwhile, regarding antidumping allegations, the final decision released by USDOC on October 22 set a temporary additional import duty of 3.9 percent for Indonesian shrimp. This figure is lower than the initial determination results that were released, namely 6.3 percent.

“We do not intend to subsidize the national shrimp industry so that the CVD rate is 0 percent, while our anti-dumping rate has decreased from 6.3 percent to 3.9 percent. “This is a positive achievement, before the final results on December 5,” he said.
