JAKARTA, iNews.id – Minister of Finance (Minister of Finance) Sri Mulyani provide reasons for changes in organizational structure at the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu). As for President Prabowo Subianto officially overhauled the organizational structure of the Ministry of Finance which currently consists of the Secretary General, Inspectorate General, eight Directorate General (Directorate General), 2 Agencies, and 8 expert staff.

When compared with the previous organizational structure, Prabowo has now abolished the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) which is currently led by the Head of BKF Febrio Nathan Kacaribu. This rule is contained in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 158 of 2024 concerning the Ministry of Finance which was inaugurated by the Head of State.

Sri Mulyani said that the change from the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) to the Directorate General (DG) of Economic and Fiscal Strategy was based on organizational rules where the policy formulation function was more appropriately held by the directorate general rather than the agency.

Why was it changed from agency to director general? because the nomenclature according to the Pan-RB Minister is that the agency doesn't make policies, even though Mr Febrio (Head of BKF) makes a lot of policies. “So it was finally changed to the Directorate General,” said Sri Mulyani in the press conference for the National Budget at the Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, Friday (8/11/2024).

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani also revealed that the reason for establishing the Directorate General of Financial Sector Stability and Development was with the strategic aim of strengthening the role of the Ministry of Finance in the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK).
