JAKARTA, iNews.id — Candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta Suswono visited Kampung Bayam to meet and dialogue with residents affected by the relocation of development due to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS). On this occasion, Suswono heard directly the aspirations and complaints of the community.

Kampung Bayam, located in the Tanjung Priok area, is a community organization that had to be relocated when the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government started the JIS development project. At that time, Governor Anies Baswedan initiated Kampung Susun Bayam, which was inaugurated in October 2022, as a form of compensation for affected residents.

However, until now, the residents of Kampung Bayam have not been able to fill the settlement due to problems with permits, administration, housing rates and changes in the management plan. Residents who should have been able to start living in this flat village were instead asked to move to Nagrak Flats and Pasar Rumput, which are far from work locations and daily activities, a plan that was rejected by the residents.

Suswono stated that he covered up this situation, emphasizing that the relocated residents of Kampung Bayam had the right to return to Kampung Susun Bayam in accordance with the initial agreement made with Governor Anies Baswedan.

Suswono emphasized that this right is not only about ownership of a place to live, but also the basic need for families to have a place to live that is close to earning a living, to make their daily lives easier.

“Residents' rights to live in Kampung Susun Bayam must be immediately fulfilled according to the agreement that has been made. Licensing, tariff and management issues need to be resolved wisely,” said Suswono.
