Beni said that before entering the coconut ice business he worked at a hotel and restaurant in the Kuta area, Bali as a demi chef. He quarreled with taste standards and food preparation.

“I learned a little about food and drink while working in a restaurant. “I tried to apply that after leaving work,” said Beni when met by iNews.id at the Es Nusantara Kelapa shop, Jalan Citaringgul, Babakan Madang, recently written on Friday (8/11/2024).
After getting married in 2012, Beni decided to leave his job and return to Bogor Regency to accompany his wife who works at a hospital in the Sentul area.
Beni admitted that at that time he was unemployed, meaning he had no work. He then tried to open a food stall business according to his expertise in the Bekasi area. However, this effort did not last long.
“I opened a food stall but didn't get a positive response from consumers. “Finally the food stall closed,” said Kurniasih's husband.

With savings of Rp. 30 million, Beni then sold coconut ice in a 2×3 meter stall in the Babakan Madang area in April 2015.
Starting from a small coconut ice shop, Beni began to find his way to success. It didn't take long, only four months, for him to be able to rent a kiosk.
“At that time, I named the coconut ice kiosk Hejo (green). But it turns out someone is already using it. “Finally I changed it to Nusantara Kelapa,” he said.
